Our school dates from 1848, and the new main school building was built in 2002. Also we have new branch school built 2010. in village Dubravica, 7km away from our main school in Pušća. Our school is small, but it is one of the most modern schools in the state. It has adopted zero-tolerance policy towards violence. 
All our classrooms are equipped with computers, TV sets and DVD players. The school also has laptops and LCD projectors that the teachers freely use for their lessons. Moreover, students can use the Internet at the school library and in the computers room. Our school aims at providing students with the basic learning tools that they need in order to learn more and become active EU citizens. In 2012 our school also bought a new interactive white board.
At present, there are 246 students in our main school and 82 students in our branch school. There are students with special educational needs, such as students suffering from dyslexia and dysgraphia. Several students have been diagnosed with attention deficit disorder (ADHD and ADD). 
In addition, a number of Roma children and children from Bosnia and Herzegovina attend our school. The Roma children experience major difficulties in terms of the Croatian language and the school syllabus. The County provides free books for them. They are often faced with adjustment difficulties due to their specific way of living. Moreover, they have problems in reading, writing and understanding the Croatian language, due to which they achieve weaker results in class. Many of the Roma parents are unemployed, which attributes to greater social disadvantages of their children.
